Talk to us about connecting and setting up tanks for your propane generator

When destructive storms roll into Central Florida or summertime electricity demand overwhelms the grid, the risk of power outages (sometimes lasting for hours or days) increases dramatically.

But let’s be honest — it’s not reasonable to expect a family to get by for extended periods without air conditioning, refrigeration, a water heater, lights or communication devices. If you depend on at-home medical equipment, an electric wheelchair or a stair lift, losing electricity to your home can become unsafe and unlivable almost instantly.

That’s why so many of SAMS GAS’s customers are adding standby generators powered by propane. We have the most trusted team in the region for connecting these generators and supplying dedicated propane tanks. We also have the most reliable propane delivery crew in Central Florida!

Standby generators offer 100% energy security

Why choose a propane standby generator for your home? Here are five major advantages:

1. Comprehensive backup power: These units can be sized to supply backup power for a whole home or only for your essential systems and appliances.
2. Automatic changeover: Standby generators come on automatically within seconds of your losing grid power — no need to run outside in inclement weather to set up a portable generator.
3. No cords: These units are permanently installed and connect directly to your home, so you don’t need to run extension cords out the window.
4. Safe for your family: Gas and diesel-powered generators can release a lot of toxic by-products. A properly installed propane generator produces minimal emissions, and it will vent them safely outside.
5. Ready when you need it: Propane has an infinite shelf life, unlike gasoline or diesel. Your tank of fuel will be ready to go when your generator kicks on.

Prepare for FL’s major storms with backup power!

Hurricanes and tropical storms are nothing to mess around with. When we’re at the peak risk of hurricanes, it’s a good idea to take some actions to prepare:

• Have supplies to cover your windows if a storm is coming.
• Trim branches and greenery away from your gutters and downspouts.
• Prominently post emergency numbers.
• Have ways to secure or store outdoor items to protect them from wind and precipitation.
• Get enough batteries, nonperishable food and water to last you three days.
• We ensure that your generator’s propane tank has sufficient fuel if you’re on our automatic delivery plan. But if you call in your own propane deliveries, please check your tank gauge regularly.

The SAMS GAS team is here to help you get your propane generator set up with a quality tank, safe gas lines and propane delivery you can count on. Contact us to get started.
